Product Testing – Introduction
LERC is equipped with State-of-the Art laboratories for testing of various LPG equipments. The main objective of the laboratories at LERC is to provide analytical assistance to the Three Major Oil Companies so as to monitor the quality of LPG Equipments like Cylinders, S C Valves, Domestic Pressure Regulators, LPG Stoves, Suraksha Hoses and Consumables being procured by them for circulation to customers.
The various labs at LERC for testing of LPG Equipment are:-
The Mechanical, Combustion & Polymer Lab is duly certified by ISO / IEC 17025:2005 (Quality System for Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and for testing of Mechanical and Chemical parameters of the LPG Equipments. The labs at LERC adopt standard test methods of Indian Standards and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for testing of LPG equipments. Some of the tests are also carried out as per LERC developed validated test methods.

Testing of LPG Cylinders as per IS 3196:2013 Part I & IS 3196:2012 Part III.

Testing of Self Closing Valves as per IS 8737:1995 (RA 2010)

Testing of Domestic Pressure Regulators as per IS 9798:2013

Testing of Domestic LPG Stoves as per IS 4246:2002 (RA 2013) & LERC developed test method.

Testing of Suraksha LPG Hose as per IS 9573:2012

Testing of Consumable like safety caps for valves, PVC seals and rubber compounds as per LERC developed validated test methods.
